James Blunt - 1973 (2007)

The Reader (2008)

I thought it was just another "awarded movie"
Luckily I did not miss out this brilliant piece

Hanna & Michael met and were attached to each other
They had an affair later on, and their relationship only endured for a summer time
It was an old story actually
However I am still highly impressed

It was not because of their significant age-gap relationship
it was the spiritual connection between them which lasted for almost 10 years
Hanna went to jail after the trial
Michael tried to abandon the past as well as his memories
Yet he failed to do so
Their souls connected again after all these years
During that time although they were apart from each other
their hearts were linked with no dissimulation

"If you love someone who is guilty, do you become entangled in their guilt? and
CAN WE CHOOSE WHO WE LOVE?"

I believe if they had the chance to return to the past,
they would have made the same choice

Cheating

I discussed this topics with several friends; most of them cheated on their spouses/ girlfriends
A friend told me that he dated other girl when he was in a relationship. (he refused to tell whether they had sex. The answer was just obvious)
He declared that he did not mean to cheat
he loved his girl so deeply however, it just happened

Another guy was cheated on before and has lost faith in love
it hurt still even when he has in a new relationship
He thus relieved the pain by having sex with different women
(once again he lost his love, the girl found him cheating and left him
yet it is another story)

To be honest, to me it doesn't really matter why men cheat (well, women cheat too)
There is always a reason
What puzzles me is, if my guy cheats
should I pretend ignorant
and keep this in the dark?
It sounds absurd
but sometimes the truth could cause great suffering
Perhaps its not bad when we deceive ourselves
it just makes life easier

Yanni - Until the Last Moment

It is one of my most favorite songs

Between us

There are indications that
mom is getting to her old age
She easily forgets things she just did
yet she could tell the stories years ago (e.g: abt her childhood), unerringly
She becomes sleepless at night
She is alert to every sound and movement (particularly the action of myself........)
but she cannot listen clearly when I talk to her

Frankly, my mother and I did not form close relationship all along
not even after the decease of father
I always try to keep my distance from her
Sometimes I am assailed by doubts whether I am concerned about her
or it is only because of responsibility
